Catalinbread has released a special version of their Blood Donor guitar fuzz pedal, which is sure to up your tone tremendously.

Catalinbread is well-known for producing high-quality effects pedals, and their Blood Donor distortion pedal is no exception.

What's even better? A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each Blood Donor pedal goes toward funding studies into ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to the deterioration and death of motor neurons. This results in the loss of voluntary muscle control, leading to difficulty in speaking, swallowing, and breathing. There is currently no cure for ALS, and the disease is fatal).

BUT

Don't underestimate the Blood Donor fuzz pedal's excellent sound quality which is based on Catalinbread's acclaimed Katzenkönig fuzz pedal.

The Rat distortion pedal is combined with the Tone Bender MkII fuzz to create this innovative hybrid with a distinctive, gritty tone.

You can get everything from crunchy saturation to sharp, laser-like fuzz to gritty, distorted tones with just four simple settings.

The Blood Donor fuzz pedal is an updated and improved version of traditional fuzz pedals. It has a carefully selected transistor set that improves saturation, a lower noise floor for silent operation, and a broader input sensitivity range for more sonic variety.

You can easily customize the noises coming from the Blood Donor pedal by turning the four knobs on top (named Please, Give, Your, and Blood). The Input sensitivity control (Blood) is positioned at the beginning of the circuit and functions like a preamp gain knob, enabling you to set the volume of your guitar signal before it enters the fuzz area. Adjusting the Gain dial (Give) will increase the amount of distortion or fuzz in your tone. You can adjust the volume level to suit your listening conditions(YOUR). Turn the Filter control (Please) at the end of the circuit clockwise for warmer sounds, or counterclockwise for livelier sounds, to further customize the Blood Donor's tone.

DOES IT PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS??

To test the Blood Donor's potential, I combined it with a Catalinbread Soft Focus and a Demi Dash Effects Videotape Echo Deluxe. I was able to get a lot of definition and texture out of it, and it worked wonderfully with my other pedals.

Tones

The dirtiness of my tone evolved into a full-on fuzz. It helped me see things more plainly and feel more textured. Even with all that distortion and fuzz, I was able to extract a lot of detail and character from it.
